The National Youth Conference, Let’s Make A Difference, is an annual eight-day residential programme held from 1–8 June every year. For the last 32 years, it has brought together young people aged 15 and above from across India. Participants come from diverse social, cultural, religious, economic and regional backgrounds, creating a space where rural and urban youth, women and men, students and professionals can learn from one another. The conference encourages young people to discover their own unique contribution towards building a better society, beginning with change within themselves.
The conference is designed as a journey of self-discovery and personal growth. The conference focuses on important areas of a young person’s life such as academics, career, habits, family relationships, friendships, personal vision, focus and discipline. Through carefully planned sessions, discussions and reflection, participants are encouraged to listen to themselves, understand their strengths and overcome stagnation in life. Many participants leave the conference with renewed clarity, confidence and direction.
The conference also creates an atmosphere of trust, care and humility where every participant feels valued. Discipline, punctuality, cleanliness, hygiene, community living and respect for others are important parts of the experience. Over the eight days, participants engage in group discussions, meaningful dramas and films, formal evenings, and interactions with visiting speakers. These activities help build strong friendships, teamwork and a positive peer group that continues to support one another even after the conference ends.
Over the years, we have welcomed several distinguished speakers, visionaries and changemakers who have inspired participants through their experiences and ideas. This includes former President of India Dr A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, Kiran Bedi, Anshu Gupta, Atul Kulkarni, Ashish Vidyarthi, Rajat Kapur, P. Sainath, Mittal Patel and Jadav Payeng. Their messages have encouraged participants to think deeply about their role in society and inspired them to contribute positively to their families, communities and the nation.
