I was in 11th standard when I attended my first Regional Youth Conference in Baramati in 2011. At that stage of life, I was curious and energetic but often driven by achievements rather than inner reflection. I allowed anger and ego to influence my reactions and rarely paused to understand the deeper meaning of my choices.
Joining Let’s Make A Difference became the turning point of my journey. That first experience introduced me to quiet time, a practice that helped me slow down, connect with my inner self, and bring clarity to my thoughts. Over the years, the four values of purity, honesty, unselfishness, and love have shaped my perspective and guided my actions.
As my journey continued, I felt called not only to attend but also to contribute. Volunteering at numerous regional conferences became an important part of my life. Each conference gave me opportunities to serve, whether it was organizing, guiding participants, or supporting the team behind the scenes. Through this, I discovered the joy of selfless contribution and the satisfaction that comes from creating meaningful experiences for others. Volunteering also helped me grow as a leader. I learned how to work with diverse groups, take responsibility, and inspire others by living the very values I had embraced. Every conference I volunteered at was not just an event but a chance to strengthen my own discipline, patience, and commitment.
The “Letter to Self” has always been a reminder for me, an anchor that calls me back to my commitments and helps me stay accountable to my growth. Today, after more than 15 years with Let’s Make A Difference, I can truly say it has transformed my way of living. It gave me a family, a direction, and a constant reminder that real change always begins within. The journey from being a participant to a volunteer has been deeply fulfilling, and I carry forward the responsibility of passing on the same inspiration that once changed me. Looking ahead, I wish to continue contributing, whether by mentoring younger participants, supporting upcoming conferences, or simply living these values in my daily life, so that more young people can experience the transformation that Let’s Make A Difference has given me.
